SHAH ALAM (Sin Chew Daily) — The award presentation ceremony of the sixth edition of Sin Chew Business Excellence Awards 2018 was held recently, with QL Resources Sdn Bhd Executive Chairman Dr Chia Song Kun bagging the Lifetime Excellence Achievement Award, and ViTrox Corporation Berhad President and CEO Chu Jenn Weng and Yong Tai Berhad CEO Datuk Wira Boo Kuang Loon being awarded Business Excellence Persons of the Year.

Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali is the guest of honour of the evening.

Seven companies were awarded the CIMB–Sin Chew Regional Excellence Award which encompasses the Asean region.

There are a total of 12 award categories this year, namely Lifetime Excellence Achievement, Business Excellence Person of the Year, Business Sustainability Excellence Award, CIMB–Sin Chew Regional Excellence Awards, Retail Excellence Award, Product Excellence Award, Business Service Excellence Award, Manufacturing Excellence Award, Digital and Technology Business Excellence Award, CSR Excellence Award, Property Excellence Award, and Young/Emerging Business Excellence Award.

Sin Chew Daily and Sinchew.com.my under MCIL Multimedia Sdn Bhd will continue to be the joint organizers of this annual award event. CIMB Bank is the exclusive sponsor.

QL Resources Sdn Bhd Executive Chairman Dr Chia Song Kun attributed his achievement to the concerted effort of everyone in his company.

Yong Tai Berhad CEO Datuk Wira Boo Kuang Loon, one of the two winners of the Business Excellence Person of the Year award, told the audience the award provided him a propelling force to continue to move ahead.

Meanwhile, ViTrox Corporation Berhad President and CEO Chu Jenn Weng also attributed his success to his team.
