PENANG: Penang is expected to hold its state election next June.

According to a source, now that the Pakatan Harapan presidential council has made the decision not to dissolve the state assemblies of PH-ruled states, Penang has no choice but to follow, as any discord could lead to possible collapse of the coalition.

“Penang will seek to dissolve the state assembly simultaneously with Selangor and Negeri Sembilan.”

“Unless PH wins the 15th general election, it will be impossible to have different decisions.

“The presidential council will discuss and make the final decision.”

The Penang state assembly will expire only on August 2 next year. Strategically PH will not let the state assembly dissolve automatically and the state election is therefore expected to be held after Hari Raya and before next July.
