KUALA LUMPUR: The home ministry has instructed its enforcement squad to stop seizing Swatch Malaysia’s “Pride Collection” watches.
A cabinet minister confirmed with Sin Chew Daily this morning that the home ministry had officially issued the instruction.
Home ministry enforcers raided 16 of the 17 Swatch stores in the country, with the exception of the IOI City Mall branch, on May 13 and 14.
Swatch Malaysia has confirmed that 164 “Pride Collection” watches worth RM64,225 had been seized from the stores during the operation.
These watches are of the models SO29G704, SO29J702, SO29O700, SO29R705, SO29S702, SO29V700, SO29K103, SO29K701 and SB03N105.
In the meantime, the home ministry told Sin Chew Daily the raid was carried out under Section 7(1) of the Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984 (Act 301).
